The Beginning
MCA began in 2022 as the Meyerholz Community Association — a student-led organization created in response to the closure of Meyerholz Elementary School. What started as a way to keep our neighborhood connected soon grew into something more.
From Halloween trick-or-treating to Lunar New Year celebrations, we brought people together — not just to celebrate, but to rebuild a sense of community. Along the way, we discovered our deeper mission: empowering young people to lead with empathy, creativity, and purpose.
Today, we focus on helping students Motivate, Create, and Advocate — not just for themselves, but for others. Through education, service, and storytelling, we’re building a stronger, more connected community.

We inspire students to lead with empathy and purpose, and speak up for what matters.
This pillar is all about where leadership meets action. We give students the tools to take initiative, amplify unheard voices, and make change in their communities.
